Constructor Description:

The Aries G series liquid chillers are air-cooled units designed for outdoor use (electrical control panel protection rating IP54). All units are designed, manufactured and tested in accordance with ISO 9001 standards. The design of this range has focused on achieving full-load and seasonal efficiency ratings that meet the limits imposed by eco-compatible design regulations (ErP Tier 2 Compliant) for SEER and SEPR HT ratings, whilst minimising environmental impact through the use of the low-GWP refrigerant R454B.

Acoustic versions:

“HE” – Basic acoustic version: compressors directly accessible from the outside;

“SHE” – Silenced acoustic version: compressors enclosed within a sound-absorbing jacket (one per compressor) and fans with reduced rotational speed compared to the “HE” configuration;

“SSN” – Super-silent acoustic version: compressors enclosed within a casing with panels insulated acoustically using sound-absorbing foam rubber and high-efficiency fans with brushless EC technology.

Structure and casing:

The entire structure is made of galvanised carbon steel sheet, treated with a phosphating process and oven-baked at 180°C with polyester powders to provide weather resistance. The units are fitted with lifting eyes for lifting and handling using slings.

Compressors: 

All units in the Aries G series are fitted with 4, 6 or 9 hermetic scroll compressors, always connected in tandem or in groups of three across 2 or 3 refrigeration circuits. The compressors are fitted with a crankcase heater, a discharge check valve, a crankcase oil level indicator and are mounted on rubber anti-vibration mounts.

Refrigerant: R454B

Evaporator: 

The evaporator is of the shell-and-tube type with 2 or 3 refrigerant circuits and a single water circuit. It is fitted with a drain valve at the lowest point of the shell, whilst the manual air vent valve is installed at the highest point of the machine’s hydraulic circuit. The evaporator is externally insulated with thermal and anti-condensation insulation and is protected by a water differential pressure switch. All evaporators used comply with the PED directive on pressure vessels and bear the ‘CE’ mark. All units are supplied with a ‘Victaulic’ type hydraulic connection kit.

Condenser:

The condensers are of the finned-coil type, featuring swirled aluminium fins, copper corrugated tubes and headers on the gas side, and galvanised sheet metal end plates, arranged in a transverse “V” configuration.

Fan:

The fans, complete with protective grilles, are axial-flow types with a die-cast aluminium housing featuring a sickle-shaped profile. The motors are of the 6- or 8-pole external rotor type, wired for high or low speed depending on the version, and feature permanent lubrication. The protection rating is IP54 with insulation class F. EC fans with brushless motors are available as an option, ensuring greater precision in condensation control and reduced power consumption.

Refrigeration circuit:

Each refrigeration circuit in the standard configuration of the Aries G versions is equipped as follows:

- pressure switch for controlling maximum condensing pressure;

- high-pressure transducer;

- safety valve in the high-pressure line (where required by EN378);

- refrigerant shut-off valve on the liquid line;

- filter drier;

- flow indicator;

- electronic expansion valve;

- low-pressure sensor;

- anti-freeze oil and refrigerant charge.

Hydraulic circuit (optional):

Units in the Aries G series can be fitted with a pumping and storage module comprising:

- an inertial storage tank;

- an automatic air vent valve, expansion tank, 3 barg safety valve, water level sensor and drain valve mounted on the tank;

- single or twin centrifugal pump;

- discharge pressure gauge.

Electrical control panel:

The unit and the electrical control panel are manufactured in accordance with standard EN60204-1; in particular, the protection against atmospheric agents required for outdoor installation of the chillers is guaranteed (IP 54 protection rating). The electrical panel is fitted with a main isolator switch with a door lock and contains the power circuit protection devices. The electrical panel is equipped with a phase monitor capable of providing protection against phase failure and incorrect phase sequence. The electrical panel features a double-door opening.

Electronic control:

The unit is managed by a programmable control system complete with a touch-screen display for machine programming and a buzzer. The terminal is located on the door of the electrical panel and is protected by a hinged polycarbonate cover. In addition to the unit’s standard thermostatic control, the system also manages heat recovery and alarm messages. It is possible to connect multiple machines in parallel (up to 8). A 24 V AC contact is also available to trigger a general alarm signal. The controller features an RS485 serial output with the standard Modbus communication protocol.

Testing:

Every machine produced is tested in the control room to verify its correct operation, both under typical operating conditions and under the most demanding conditions.
